So today I wanted to unveil the first of roughly eleven tracks that will be on the Hymns project, which at this time still doesn’t have an official title. The first piece is a well known melody. “All Creatures of Our God and King” stands for me as a timeless hymn that is well known in both a standard and comtemporary format. I want to treat it light, yet reverently in this rendition.

A lot of inspiration for this project comes from my humble music beginnings in my sleepy little town of Pitkin, Louisiana. I grew up going to a small country church, and a lot of these hymns would be played regularly on Sundays. It was in church that I really gained a basic understanding and love of music.

I believe the same two women that always played our organ and piano are still at my little home church, and hearing them weave in and out of the arrangements of those hymns sparked some ideas in me that I believe I am only now beginning to realize now that I have more musical knowledge.

So I hope that you will enjoy this first offering from my Hymns collection.
